I wonder if the scrap yard kept Tilted Arc? It'd be funny if it were reinstalled now that he's popular.

John Nack on Adobe: "Holy crap"-worthy imaging technology
Strayform wants to invert the entire IP process. So that rather than restricting access to content and using a large distributor to get it out, you fund projects during their creation and release them openly. With the distributor out of the way 90% of the costs are gone, which means lower costs for consumers, higher profits for artists. By releasing under Creative Commons you get your fans and the public to distribute for you on a scale larger than the one distributors offered (you've already been paid so you don't have to worry about "piracy"). Plus since the people paying come in during the creation process that have a chance to be involved and see the work grow. You can talk with the creator, download the newest version of the product as its grows, and offer suggestions to the creator. Strayform is not strictly for musicians. IP producers of all kinds can use Strayform's transaction system for films, songs, texts, videos, art, even engineer diagrams or other scientific works. The site has a massive amount of functionality, blogs, bookmarks, messaging, discussion boards, extensive privacy options, page customizations, groups, dynamic ranking, updates and most importantly a comprehensive transaction system for funding new works.

Strayform - Artists & Fans, Connecting & Creating
The funny/cool thing is.. within a couple of days of this appearing there were already a couple of people who had rough prototypes of this technology done in Flash/ActionScript. see here: http://www.swieskowski.net/carve/ here http://www.beedigital.net/blog/?p=1261 and here http://www.quasimondo.com/archives/000652.php for some examples and links

Writing Art
King is Ours was established by Atlanta artist Gilbert Young to repatriate the expression of our collective national heritage to America. My name is Clint Button, one of only approx a dozen full time granite sculptors left in the USA Granite Industry. Go to www. kingisours. com to join, sign petition, etc and help us keep a $100 million project in the hands of American Artists and Artisans. China is only a circumstantial participant in this specific issue, even though current press coverage has overlooked this fact. Some media outlets have made great effort to make this a race/racism issue, even uninviting me from a recent CNN broadcast specifically because I an not African American. I stood only feet from Gilbert Young in the CNN Atlanta studio as the moderator spun the debate into a confrontation. We need to produce a positive solution, not simply instigate dissent. Help up do this. We look forward to hearing from you. King is Ours. Clint Button, traditional granite sculptor www. carolinasculpturestudio. com

he put the instructions in his will.. and for a good reason. They need to license the rights to the images (for posters, calendars, etc) rather than moving the original art.

the sad thing is the Chinese would have a dozen copies for sale as soon as it was done. If you're sending work to China to have it produced you should know that they're making way more copies than you ordered and selling it without your knowledge.
